Frequently asked Questions
What is Silestone ?
Silestone is naturally beautiful, durable quartz. Silestone is the world’s leading natural quartz surface – a superior stone for myriad interior surfacing applications because of its ideal combination of beauty and practicality. Silestone features a range of more than 65 unique colors, so no matter what your taste or style, we’ve got the perfect fit.
What is Quartzstone ?
Engineered Quartz stone is artificial stone consist of 94% quartzite and other additives such like resin, natural detritus, mineral pigment and so on made by high vacuum pressing, doffing mould, drying and solidifying, calibrating, polishing and cutting. It is perfect materials for construction with light quality, high intensity, and high resistance to staining, corrosive, and easy construct since its nature stone texture and character which can be controlled by human. Quartz stone is widely used in kitchen counter top, counters in pubs and bars, washing basin counters, window counters, classical bathroom, wall and floor tiles, luxury commercial places(five-star hotels, official buildings, luxury showrooms, wall and floor in airport and banks.
What is Caesarstone ?
Caesarstone’s quartz surface products are manufactured from up to 93% quartz (one of nature’s hardest minerals) and high-quality polymer resins and pigments that are compacted under intense vibration, vacuum, and pressure into dense, non-porous slabs. Caesarstone’s quartz slabs are then post cured, gauged to precise thicknesses, and polished to an enduring shine. This results in surfaces that retain the cool, tactile qualities of natural stone while offering design freedom with almost unlimited application possibilities.
What is Technistone ?
Technistone produced through patented process from the Breton technology is as a result of the environmental impact of quarrying raw materials like marble and granite, there was a demand for a new product by the consumers. It has very high performance surface and its wide colour range makes it easy to suit any building project requirement while also enhancing any living space
What is the difference between granite and silestone?
Granite is a natural stone and Silestone is a synthetic material made from quartz – that is the biggest difference. However, both have their pros and cons:
Granite
Pros: Absolutely beautiful and natural. You will find more color and variation in a granite slab because if it’s inherent natural beauty.
Cons: Must be sealed on a regualr basis to prevent staining. This “regular basis” will vary depending on use. It is also heavy and the natural cracks and fissures in it make fabrication a little more difficult. It is also gets more expensive the thicker the slab you buy – or if you don’t want to buy a thick slab and just want the edges built up to make it look thick the labor to do the build-up is pretty pricey.
Silestone (or any other manufactured quartz surface, ie Zodiaq, Caesarstone, Cambria
Pros: Virtually indestructable. You can’t stain it, scratch it, or burn it with everyday use. It DOESN’T need to be sealed because it isn’t porous. This also makes it better bactrial-ly speaking. It’s more consistent in it’s pattern and color. Standard thickness is a 3cm slab. It also has a more contemporary look to it, which is great if that’s what you’re going for.
Cons: Sometimes it looks a little “fake” especially when you have a sample of it next to a granite.
